About Calming Mind Counseling

Welcome to Calming Mind Counseling, LLC.

Here you will find compassionate professionals who love connecting with clients and helping people live their best lives. We are a mental health therapy business located in Maui, Hawaii, offering online therapy for clients in both Hawaii and Colorado. Some of the benefits of online therapy are that you can join a virtual meeting from the comfort of your own home, not having to travel or figure out parking, saving you time and money. We work with many clients across these two beautiful states and see clients in person in Lahaina and Kihei on the island of Maui.

Welcome to our page,

Who I Am

I am a peaceful, humorous presence with an interest in spirituality, philosophy, movies, music, art, and nature. I believe experiencing peak moments allows us to connect to the environment around us in meaningful ways. I am my best self when I’m at the beach and in the ocean.

I am a former future Buddhist monk who believes we’re all at our best when we’re relaxed, laughing, and not taking ourselves or the world too seriously.

I am committed to creating a warm, welcoming, supportive space in which all your identities can truly be seen, heard, and accepted, including cultural background, gender and sexual identity, socioeconomic status, ability, military affiliation, and religious/spiritual orientation.

I believe that kindness, non-judgement, and unconditional positive regard are the keys to establishing genuine human connection, self-awareness, and growth towards your own individual goals.

My Professional Training and Experience

I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work from Colorado State University and have over 5 years’ experience serving our community’s mental health needs in a wide variety of settings, from the CSU Counseling Center to a 24-hour community crisis center.
